Summary:

The NHS and health and care, in general, is entering a new phase. Recent events including the COVID 19 pandemic have drawn into sharp relief aspects of new ways of working but have also highlighted more endemic problems. Importantly, these include a need to improve equality diversity at all levels and as recently highlighted for the BAME community. Increasing transparency of decision making at all levels, informed by data, is essential to drive and monitor change for the benefit of patients, public and staff and will improve.
